Course Outlook

The course aims to introduce practitioners to foresight for systems changes so they can apply it in their work at local and international levels. 

This course consists of 7 modules complemented with a webinar led by Dr Jim Woodhill (Foresight4Food Lead), Dr John Ingram (University of Oxford - Environmental Change Institute), Monika Zurek (University of Oxford - Environmental Change Institute).

The webinar gives a general overview of the Foresight4Food approach to foresight for food systems transformation, provides the latest cases on applying this approach. The webinar will provide space for interactive dialogue to enrich your learning experience.

This webinar will take place on 12 February 2026, 14:30 PM CET / 13:30 PM GMT. Enrolled participants will receive an email and invitation link to the webinar.

Course Partners

This course has been developed by Foresight4Food based on experience with partners and members of the Foresight4Food network across Africa, Asia and Europe. It draws on an Africa-focused version of the course developed in collaboration with the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) as part of the African Foresight Academy. The course integrates research and training on food systems and foresight being done by the Food System Group in the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford and Wageningen University and Research. Funding from the Mastercard Foundation, IFAD and Commonwealth of Learning has contributed to the production of the course.
